Our issues

In the last decade, reproductive rights, voting rights, and workers’ rights have faced relentless attacks. Meanwhile, federal and state governments have brazenly threatened the rule of law.
We prioritize these issues because they are interconnected — people don’t experience threats to their rights in silos. Our goal is to ensure the communities that have been marginalized — BIPOC people, LGBTQIA+ people, pregnant people, and workers — can thrive.
To achieve a multi-racial democracy, we work with local governments to deliver on their duty to protect and advance these civil rights. We believe that local government officials can ensure their communities thrive when we invest in their skills, capacity, and leadership.
Public Rights Project has a proven track record fighting for civil rights. We’ve recovered more than $46 million in relief for marginalized people, improved legal access to abortion for 25 million people, and advanced voting access for more than 35 million people.
