Deputy Chief of Programs
Public Rights Project is seeking a Deputy Chief of Programs to serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Program Officer and help oversee legal work across the organization during a period of rapid growth. This role works across PRP’s Civil Rights Hub, Litigation team, and Election Protection Hub to help ensure high-quality, efficient legal and programmatic work that protects civil rights, voting rights, and local democracy nationwide.
The Deputy Chief will lead and strengthen internal program operations, building the systems and processes that allow PRP’s legal teams to scale their impact across multiple issue areas and jurisdictions. This is a primarily internal, process-oriented leadership role that requires a seasoned public-interest lawyer with strong experience in management, operations, and strategic oversight. The position reports to the Chief Program Officer and collaborates closely with department leaders across the organization.
