Frequently asked questions
-
What is Public Rights Project (PRP)?
Public Rights Project is a legal advocacy nonprofit organization that works with local governments to protect and expand civil rights and democracy. PRP partners with district attorneys and other elected officials to provide critical resources and litigation support, so they can better protect and expand the rights and freedoms of their communities.
-
Why does PRP focus on local government officials?
Local elected officials — including district attorneys — are on the frontlines protecting the rights of millions of people and acting as catalysts for progress. But they often lack sufficient resources to make an impact. PRP fills that gap by providing training, community, and other types of support.
