Tiana is the new Communications Coordinator of The Public Rights Project’s Marcomm Team. She will be utilizing her project management, operations, and executive administrative skills to support the team.

Prior to joining the Public Rights Project, Tiana was a proud first-generation 2021 NYU Gallatin graduate, where her concentration highlighted the importance of representation behind the camera. In her early career, she worked in the entertainment industry with notable companies like HBO Max and Sony Pictures Entertainment — experiences that further fueled her desire to call out performative diversity. Through her administrative support work, Tiana made her way into the HR world, advocating for employees from marginalized communities, and eventually into the mission-driven space, focusing on how to bridge her administrative skills with her passion for civil rights, systemic change, advocacy, and helping organizations create the most notable but direct impact. She has worked with several nonprofits, including The Center for Cultural Power and PACE Strategies, where she was heavily involved in coordinating election preparation, equity-focused, and justice-driven campaigns.

Tiana’s mission in life is to empower people and become a champion for people’s basic rights, including the right to exist, particularly those from marginalized communities. Born and raised in a working-class, immigrant household in New York City, specifically the South Bronx, Tiana saw firsthand how the denial of rights, justice, and equitable access to opportunity became a pattern growing up. Now calling herself a disruptor who unapologetically challenges systemic oppression, Tiana is designing a life in which she can reimagine a future that elevates marginalized people’s voices, ensures access to basic rights, and allows people to exist freely and feel liberated. In her off time, Tiana loves to cook, watch anime, tend to her plants, write her blog, and partake in meaningful discussions with like-minded individuals.
