Marica Wright is a Staff Attorney with Public Rights Project’s Election Protection Hub.

Prior to joining Public Rights Project, Marica clerked for Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She was previously a Litigation Associate at an international law firm, where she worked on employment law, insurance defense, and white collar investigation matters and developed an extensive pro bono practice.

Marica received her Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School, where she was the Director of Outreach and Substantive Edits for the Jailhouse Lawyers’ Manual, a Lani Guinier Fellow in the Columbia Law School Center for Institutional and Social Change, a student attorney with the Community Advocacy Lab Clinic, a legal extern with Public Rights Project, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, and President of the Columbia Black Law Students Association.

Prior to law school, Marica worked as an a Confidential Assistant in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Commerce, and the Executive Assistant to the Chair, Operations Manager, and Voting Rights Assistant at Priorities USA. Marica earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology, from Spelman College.
