Josh joined Public Rights Project in 2026 after more than three decades in private practice, mostly as a plaintiffs’-side litigator, along with service as the Legal Director of the National Immigrant Justice Center. A seasoned trial and appellate advocate, Josh has represented a remarkably varied range of clients—among them large classes of workers and consumers, individuals, units of local government, a union, a Fortune 500 company, and a sovereign nation—in common law, statutory, and constitutional litigation.

Josh graduated from Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School. He clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Hubert L. Will, is a member of the American Law Institute, and has been recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer®️ and listed on the Illinois Leading Lawyer Network.
