Christine Bass is a Senior Staff Attorney with the Election Protection Hub, where she provides strategic support to local election officials working to protect free and fair elections. Her work focuses on defending the authority of local election officials, responding to threats to election administration, and helping local governments navigate emerging legal and political challenges to the democratic process.

Before joining Public Rights Project, Christine served as Legislative Counsel at the Voting Rights Lab, where she analyzed voting and election legislation across the country and worked with advocates and policymakers to advance policies that expand access to the ballot, and as a Democracy Fellow at the States United Democracy Center, where she provided legal, policy, research, and communications support to state and local election officials on voting litigation and policy. She began her legal career at DLA Piper, where she was awarded one of two Krantz Fellowships nationwide and maintained a robust pro bono practice while practicing in the firm’s litigation and white-collar groups.

Christine earned her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and her B.A. from DePaul University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is based in Oakland, California.
