Public Rights Project seeks to hire Summer 2026 Law Clerks to join our team. This is a paid remote internship for first and second year law students lasting 8-10 weeks. A summer Law Clerk position with PRP would be ideal for law students interested in cutting-edge impact litigation, public service, and creative strategies to protect civil rights. (Elections) Staff Attorney
Public Rights Project seeks to hire a Staff Attorney to join the EPH. The Staff Attorney will staff PRP’s in-house efforts to represent and advise state, local, and tribal governments and elected officials in support of election administration and the expansion of voting rights.
The Staff Attorney will be assigned to support PRP government partners in particular states. The Staff Attorney will therefore serve as a “state lead,” and will be expected to become an expert in election administration, voting rights, and political developments in their assigned state. This includes conducting regular outreach to government and non-government partners in the assigned states.
(Litigation) Staff Attorney
Public Rights Project seeks to hire one or more Staff Attorneys to join its Litigation Team. The Staff Attorney will be a key member of PRP’s team advancing the work of local governments protecting civil rights in the face of hostility from the federal government, as well as state governments and private actors. The Staff Attorney will conduct and support case development and research, work with partners, and manage and contribute to various litigation and pre-litigation activities. The Litigation Team handles cases in which government clients are both plaintiffs and defendants, in both state and federal courts. This position reports to the Litigation Director and will work closely with members of the Litigation Team and other Program Team staff.
Senior Prospect Research Manager
Public Rights Project (PRP) is seeking a Senior Prospect Research Manager to strengthen our foundation for ambitious revenue growth. As a key member of our four-person development team, you will focus on research to support institutional giving while advancing our individual donor pipeline. You will lead prospect identification, research, and data analysis to ensure PRP pursues the right funders with the right strategies, creating systems and processes for data-driven prospecting, synthesizing complex information into actionable insights, and partnering closely with frontline fundraisers to meet goals and move opportunities forward. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, this behind-the-scenes yet mission-critical role will be central to helping PRP achieve its revenue targets.
Media Relations Coordinator
Public Rights Project (PRP) is seeking a Media Relations Coordinator to support our media relations activities for the organization and our network of local government partners. In this role, you will be a driving force in elevating the voices of local leaders, government partners, and communities on the frontlines of justice.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with the rest of PRP’s Communications & Marketing team, you will craft media materials, prepare leaders for high-profile press opportunities, and cultivate relationships with journalists to expand PRP’s brand presence. You will also monitor and analyze media coverage, generating insights that inform strategy and highlight PRP’s impact.
This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to gain exposure to senior leaders, high-impact litigation and policy work, and national media platforms. The Coordinator will not only support day-to-day media operations but also contribute creatively to the organization’s storytelling, messaging, and digital engagement strategies. The ideal candidate profile will be based on the West Coast to strengthen coordination with PRP’s West Coast–based partners.
